Cowboys ink Ratliff to a new deal

The Dallas Cowboys rewarded Pro Bowl nose guard Jay Ratliff with a five-year, $40 million extension that includes $18 million in guaranteed money, according to multiple reports and Ratliff's agent. Ratliff, 30, has made the Pro Bowl for three years in a row

He was under contract for the next two seasons at salaries of $3.75 million and $4.875 million. Ratliff is one of the top nose guards in the game and has recorded 25 sacks in 63 starts.

Last season, Ratliff posted 34 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.
