The Dallas Cowboys re-signed right tackle Marc Colombo today to a four-year deal keeping him in Dallas until 2012. Colombo originally
signed with the club on November 2, 2005 as a free agent following his
release from the Chicago Bears.
After a rough start to his career injury
wise, he has been a model of durability for the Cowboys - starting all
16 regular season games in 2006 and 2007 and every game thus far in
2008. For his career he has started 54-of-70 regular season games. He
was a first round draft pick (29th overall) by the Bears in 2002, where
he played in the first 11 weeks before landing on reserve/injured on
November 26 with a dislocated left patella and femoral nerve damage.
He
spent the entire 2003 season and the beginning of the 2004 season on
reserve/PUP while rehabbing his knee. Colombo signed to the active
roster in Week 10 of 2004 and finished out the season, before being
released after the first game in 2005.
