Cowboys sign Alan Ball

The Dallas Cowboy signed exclusive rights free agent, Alan Ball today.

Ball, who can play both corner and safety, has appeared in 28 games with three starts in his three seasons with the Cowboys. For his career, he has 26 tackles and five pass breakups with 24 special teams stops. In 2009, he had career-highs in tackles (19), pass breakups (four) and special teams tackles (16).

Ball was originally a seventh-round draft pick (237th overall) in 2007 by the Cowboys out of Illinois.
