The Cowboys finally proved to themselves and everybody else that they can beat a good team.
Now they have to build on their victory and get on a roll.
They won back-to-back games for the first time since last season and are in a good position to win three straight with the Seahawks (2-4) coming to town on Sunday.
The Cowboys (4-2) are just a half game behind the Giants (5-2) in the NFC East and are tied with the Eagles for second place.
Two weeks after seemingly being on the brink of implosion or at least the firing of head coach Wade Phillips, the Cowboys are in prime position to make a run at the NFC East title.
"You only ride it for a couple of days and the next day." inside linebacker Bradie James said of the win. "All the naysayers can say whatever, but we beat a winning team and now we're rolling."
The Cowboys are confident after beating the Falcons. And for good reason.
Quarterback Tony Romo is no longer second-guessing himself and looks to be the playmaker he once was. It helps that he has seemingly found a No. 1 receiver in Miles Austin.
The running game is healthy with Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice back in the lineup.
"We've got to keep building," offensive coordinator Jason Garrett said. "We're going to look at this tape, and there's going to be 100 things that we've got to correct. That's part of it, and our players understand that the thing that's a real positive is they come to work and they understand that they see it on tape, and say, 'Hey, we've got to get better at it.'"
And the defense is seemingly coming into its own. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware is destroying quarterbacks again.
And the secondary is growing up. Mike Jenkins might be the team's best cornerback.
The Seahawks' 23rd-ranked offense might have no chance.
With road games against Packers and Eagles coming up next, it's important for the Cowboys to keep the momentum going with another home win against the Seahawks.
"It's good to be in a good position," defensive end Marcus Spears said. "But at the end of the day, you've got to put more wins together and be a solid team throughout the whole season in order to be where you want to be."
SERIES HISTORY
: 12th regular-season meeting. Cowboys lead the series 7-4. Dallas beat Seattle 34-9 last year. Dallas has won four of six games in Dallas. But the Seahawks have won two of the last three games.
