Who are the top quarterbacks in the NFL heading into Week 5 action? Scout.com's Ed Thompson submits…
Season saved for now
The final score came from 59-yards out as Austin caught a pass from Tony Romo, breaking a tackle by Broncos cornerback Maurice Leggett.
"He tried to jump it, so I had to keep it outside a little more than you'd normally want to, but Miles did a good job of continuing to come back," Romo said. "If you take that chance as a corner, the possibility is there. I was glad to see Miles take off. It was really exciting and rewarding."
With the loss the Chiefs have now lost 28 of their last 30 games while the Cowboys move to 16-4 leading into a bye week.
The win came after a myriad of Cowboys errors, including 13 penalties for 90 yards, a missed field goal attempt, a dropped punt by Patrick Crayton, numerous dropped passes and several poor throws from Romo.
Matt Cassel's 16-yard TD pass to Dwayne Bowe tied it 20-20 with 24 seconds to go in regulation, before Austin got free on a 60-yard scoring play on Dallas' second possession in overtime.
"It's a feeling that's unbelievable," Austin said. "It's amazing. I never seen that coming today. I was ready today, but you never expect a huge game like that."
Kansas City moved out to a 10-3 halftime lead thanks to two Dallas turnovers and a lackluster first half for America's team.
Dallas wouldn't get going until the fourth, when Romo connected with Austin for the first of two big plays.
Romo ended the game 20-for-34 for 351 yards and two scores. Cassel, who is still winless since being traded from New England, was 23 for 41 for 263 yards.
NOTES: DeMarcus Ware recorded his first sack of the season, snapping a five-game drought that dated back to last year. ...
