Unthinkable!

Dallas falls to 8-6 on the season after a stunning 35-7 loss to archrival Washington.

It a loss that could only be described as "unthinkable" before kickoff, Redskins' head coach Joe Gibbs completed a sweep over fellow coach Bill Parcells in resounding fashion Sunday at Fed Ex Field.

Mark Brunell passed for four touchdowns, including three to tight end Chris Cooley, and defensive end Phillip Daniels recorded four sacks as the Washington Redskins rolled to a 35-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

It was the largest margin of victory for the Redskins (8-6) against their bitter NFC East rivals and marked the first time they completed a sweep of the season series since 1995.

The Cowboys (8-6) had dominated the rivalry, winning 14 of 15 meetings before the Redskins rallied for a stunning 14-13 victory at Dallas on September 19 as Brunell hit Santana Moss with scoring passes of 39 and 70 yards in the final four minutes.

This time, the Redskins clearly proved they were the superior team, dominating both sides of the line of scrimmage. Led by Daniels, the Redskins sacked Drew Bledsoe seven times and forced the veteran quarterback to commit four turnovers.

Meanwhile, the Redskins' offensive line kept the Cowboys' pass rushers away from Brunell, who was not sacked once, and created holes for Clinton Portis, who rushed for 112 yards on 23 carries.

The win moved Washington into a second-place tie with Dallas, two games behind the first-place New York Giants. The Redskins, who host the Giants next week, are still alive in the division race as well as for a wild-card berth and own an 8-2 conference record.

On Dallas' first play from scrimmage, Daniels deflected a pass by Bledsoe into the hands of by defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin. Four plays later, Brunell hit Cooley with an eight-yard touchdown pass with 8:44 left in the first quarter.

Brunell threw three more scoring passes in the second quarter - two to Cooley for two and 30 yards and a three-yard toss to fullback Mike Sellers.

Ladell Betts scored on a one-yard run with 10:15 left in the third quarter to increase Washington's lead to 35-0.

The Cowboys finally scored when Bledsoe hit tight end Jason Witten with a two-yard touchdown pass with 12:10 remaining in the fourth quarter.
