Garrett's future on the line
ESPN reported Sunday, at minimum, it would take the Cowboys winning their final two games to keep Garrett safe.
The Cowboys face NFC East rivals Washington in Philadelphia to close the 2013 season.
Sources indicate growing angst on the team, not only because of recent late-season struggles, but because of the unwillingness by the staff to alter its game plan when needed, is becoming too difficult to ignore.
The boiling point, of course, was giving up the 26-3 lead against Green Bay. However, the continued late-season collapses have taken their toll, not only the team itself, but general manager and owner Jerry Jones.
If the Cowboys lose to the Redskins Sunday, expect the heat to be turned up even more on Garrett and his staff.
Regardless, at this juncture, it appears Garrett needs to win out, and win at least one playoff game, to save his job.
Sources close to the Cowboys believe a new staff could give new life to Tony Romo, who still has plenty of time left in his career to turn things around.
Romo, who has shouldered the majority of the blame in recent years in the Cowboys lack of postseason production, has been under even more criticism this season, but he still viewed as the face of the franchise by Cowboys officials.
