Less than an hour into the Dallas Cowboys' first practice of training camp Sunday, defensive end Tyrone Crawford was carted off the field with an apparent lower leg injury.

And then the worst was confirmed ... he'll miss the entire 2013 season with an Achilles injury.

Crawford wasn't an impact player during his first year out of Boise State, but he was expected to be a major contributor to the Cowboys' defense this season.

Last year, he played in all 16 games, recording 20 total tackles.
