The Victor Cruz watch for New York Giants fans is finally over. The superstar wide out signed a six year extension worth up to $46 million dollars to remain with Big Blue. The deal includes a guarantee $15.625 million during Cruz's first two years along with a $9.5 million signing bonus as well.
The long-term contract comes in the wake of Cruz's holdout this offseason, after he was franchised tagged by the Giants. The two sides couldn't come to agreement before the NFL free agency period opened in March.
Cruz has been the Giants most reliable wide receiver the past two seasons. In 2012 he led New York in every receiving category including a career high in receptions and touchdowns after enjoying a breakout year in 2011.
Cruz garnered a Pro Bowl selection last season and is widely considered to be one of the best slot receivers in the game today. With his contract negotiations in the rearview, Cruz can get back what he does best; salsa dancing in the end zone, a sight Giants fans hope to see many times over the next six years.
